Hearing care provider HearUSA, which previously introduced the AARP Hearing Care program on a limited basis in 9 states in which the company owns hearing care centers, is rolling out the program to an additional 24 states by the end of 2010. Plans are for the program to be extended to all 50 states and the U.S. territories by the end of 2011, through a nationwide network of more than 3,500 credentialed hearing care providers.
The program, available exclusively to AARP members, offers rehabilitation and consultation services in addition to discounts on state-of-the-art hearing aid technology, extended warranties, and battery supplies.
According to David Mathis, senior vice-president of AARP’s Health Products and Services, all respondents of a 268-member survey taken during the 9-state pilot program said they were satisfied with the program, giving it a score of 90% or higher.
