Medial migration of a tympanostomy tube

An 11-year-old girl with a history of otitis media with effusion was referred for evaluation of a medialized tympanostomy tube. The patient had undergone multiple ventilation tube placements between the ages of 9 months and 7 years and an adenoidectomy at the age of 2 years. She reported occasional left-sided tinnitus and sporadic otorrhea, which seemed to alternate sides. She denied otalgia, hearing loss, and imbalance.
